Salutation of Beatrice

LinkA newly discovered painting of Jane Morris by Rossetti, along with several "new" sketches, are going on the auction block. This portrait is absolutely beautiful...it's definitely a new favorite of mine, and I look forward to hearing more about it as the scholars investigate.

(thanks Shane)

The estimate is £1 - 1.5m. We ought to start a book on it, though its priceless really.

Just the idea that there still exist unknown works (when we thought we've seen them all) is just so exciting!

It seems to be the oil version of this:

but so great it has been discovered after all this time + the new drawings.
